Dear readers, should I keep the automatic weekly Twitter links?

Comments

I’ve been auto-posting all my tweets on my blog. I’m curious what people think about it – useful? Or not?

Take the poll below, and please leave comments if you have extended thoughts:

Thanks for the feedback!

Keep them! I don't go to twitter and love getting them in my RSS reader. Love your links!

Can you please do a post on how you automatically make a blog post with them too? Are you using a script? Or is it a plugin, or what??

Andrew, I used to follow you on twitter but the google reader shares just got to be too much, so i had to stop following. love the blog and the topics you tackle, tho.

anyway, that's just me. i know you can't keep everyone happy. =)
  • Please no! I subscribe to your blog through iGoogle and I hate just getting a list of "Twitter Weekly Updates"
  • I actually really like your twitter links. I don't have patience or the time to go through twitter myself, but your links are generally entertaining or informative. Please keep them up! Also, what plugin do you use to publish those links?
  • Andrew- love the links, but I love the essays/post even more. Agree with the formatting too - if you had just the link and the reason you found it valuable, that would be awesome. realize its easier said than done.
  • It's a bad format for links. Just post your links to this blog, as you find them.

Also, I'd suggest changing the practice of having so many of your tweets be just "Greader share: Title of the Post."

It gets pretty noisy. It might be more time consuming to provide context or endorsement or more meaningful description, but it's much more valuable too.
  • I don't read the twitter posts. I figure if I missed it on Twitter I can live without it.

Great to tell a story around the Tweets, but not much point in just sharing an automatic list. Love the blog BTW.
