Bay Area entrepreneurs that I’m following on Twitter

Lots of Bay Area startup chatter on Twitter
As I’ve written about many times, I’m of the often-repeated notion that the SF Bay area is a one-of-a-kind place for entrepreneurs. There’s lots of advantages, but one great one is the constant casual chatter of other entrepreneurs and CEOs here.

I quickly combed my tweets for today and made a list of active users of Twitter who also happen to be founder/CEOs in the companies around here. Almost all of them are running VC-backed startups, and they are among the best folks to learn from. I’m purposely leaving out obvious choices like @ev and conference types that get enough visibility as it is ;-)

The quick list of folks you might follow on Twitter
Here we go:

  8. Thanks Andrew. I'm just trying to keep up with you ;) Seriously, you're part of the reason I chose to focus more on posting value and knowledge instead of where I was having drinks with friends (well I made a private account for posting the later ;)

I've written my heart and brain out in our company blog (blog.dogster.com plug plug) and think it's at 175 RSS readers. Twitter gives me 3500 followers and I don't even have to spellcheck. Wicked.

  12. WTF…. Wow, I've finally made it on a list … done up by, of all people, my PROFESSIONAL SUPER HERO, Andrew Chen — that puts me, and Max Levchin, Joyce Kim, Siqi Chen, Jonathan Abrams, Ming Yeow Ng, Scott Rafer, Sachin Rekhi, Ted Rehingold, Gave Rivera, David Weekly, Peter Pham on the same list…. that blows my mind. These are some of the smartest and most interesting people I know. I have no idea how I got on that list. But that explains why I've gotta more 100x more followers it seems in the past 24 hours than ever before. Thanks for the kind recognition Andrew. I'm just a fan boy… its embarrassing. That list was the the top highlight of the day/month/quarter… hahah… rock on.

Seriously though, you're one of the only guys out there willing to share real data and substantive ideas – keep it up!

  16. i always think the corporate twitter accounts seem less attractive to follow – now specific people from admob, that would be much better.

  17. Hey Ted. Great to bump into here and see that you are still doing well. I recently became an entrepreneur myself and launched (the first site) of my web games network. I hope to make it onto this this list someday too… ;)

    Hope to stay in touch.

  20. I admit, I have not been on this webpage in a long time… however it was another joy to see It is such an important topic and ignored by so many, even professionals. I thank you to help making people more aware of possible issues.

  22. I never thought to follow people by geographic location, but it's a good technique for local businesses to use in their advertising and marketing strategy.
