Ads should be next to brand-elevating content

I’ve written in the past about brand advertisers being uncomfortable with having their ads show up next to social network ad impressions. Anyway, I ran into a funny slideshow I wanted to share.

Here are some hilarious examples of bad "editorial adjacency," some from retail, internet, and outdoor media:

    That’s good stuff.

    Apparently the video of those girls beating up their cheerleader friend showed up on some video sites that had pre-roll advertising. No good.

    I thought it was funny how the folks on the Today show cracked on YouTube and MySpace for glorifying such activity as they themselves showed the clip as a teaser to their story on the subject all morning.
